On October 4, 2024, VGU successfully organized the dissemination & T.o.T training workshop under project on “Climate Change Adaptation through Geospatial Digital Data and Earth Observation.”
The event attracted the participation of numerous experts and lecturers from various universities. It was part of the activities under the CADEO project, which aims to enhance the capacity of professionals in the fields of geospatial digital technologies and climate adaptation.
During the workshop, Dr. Ludovico Biagi from Polimi University opened with an overview of the CADEO project, emphasizing the role of digital tools in analyzing and forecasting environmental and climate change issues. Following that, Dr. Ali Mansourian from Lund University shared insights on postgraduate training standards and educational policies in Europe, providing valuable perspectives on how these standards can be applied to training programs in Vietnam.
The most important part of the workshop was the detailed introduction of the key modules within the CADEO project. Dr. Ludovico Biagi presented the module on “Geospatial Artificial Intelligence”, focusing on the application of AI in geospatial data analysis. Next, Dr. Micael Runnström introduced the “Earth Observation” module, highlighting the importance of Earth observation for collecting and managing environmental data. Other modules such as “Geospatial Web Applications” by Dr. Ali Mansourian and “Digital Twins” by Dr. Daniele Oxoli were also presented, offering fresh perspectives on geospatial technology for resource management and sustainable development.
The workshop marked an important milestone in the implementation of the CADEO project. This project promises to make substantial contributions to research and technological applications in climate change mitigation efforts in Vietnam
