On February 21, 2025, representatives from the Climate Change Adaptation using Digital Geospatial Twins and Earth Observation (CADEO) project actively participated in the seminar titled “Vietnam–Italy Cooperation in Technologies and Applications,” organized by the Vietnam Space Center under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The event served as a platform to showcase collaborative efforts between Vietnam and Italy in technological advancements and their practical applications.
During the seminar, Prof. Ludovico Biagi, Politecnico di Milano presented the project’s mission to enhance climate change adaptation strategies in Vietnam through the integration of digital geospatial twins and Earth observation technologies. They detailed the development and implementation of four innovative courses: Geospatial Artificial Intelligence, Earth Observation, Geospatial Web Applications, and Digital Twin Earth. These courses are designed to equip Vietnamese higher education institutions with cutting-edge tools and knowledge, fostering a new generation of professionals adept in utilizing geospatial technologies for environmental resilience.
The presentation garnered significant interest from attendees, particularly regarding the adoption of CADEO’s courses into professional training programs. Participants recognized the value of integrating these courses to enhance their technical expertise and address the pressing challenges posed by climate change. This enthusiasm underscores the growing recognition of the importance of geospatial technologies in developing effective adaptation strategies and the pivotal role that international collaborations, such as the CADEO project, play in facilitating knowledge transfer and capacity building.
The seminar not only highlighted the fruitful cooperation between Vietnam and Italy but also emphasized the potential of projects like CADEO to drive technological innovation and environmental sustainability. As the project progresses, it is poised to make substantial contributions to Vietnam’s efforts in combating climate change through education and the practical application of advanced geospatial technologies.
